Vallegrande - Masicurí, Santa Cruz, Bolivia

Birds observed along the road Vallegrande - Masicurí, dpto. Santa Cruz, Bolivia, in 1991-3 (132 KB, pdf document, see below about how to read it). Co-authors are Mette Bohn Christiansen and Elin Pitter. A detailed trip report with data on all species seen or heard during several visits in 1991 and 1993 to localities along the road from Vallegrande to Masicurí. 200 species were observed, of which ten were not previously recorded in Santa Cruz. Some of the birds encountered: Solitary Eagle Harpyhaliaetus solitarius, Black-and-chestnut Eagle Oroaetus isidori, Orange-breasted Falcon Falco deiroleucus, Red-faced Guan Penelope dabbenei, Alder Parrot Amazona tucumana.
